Whoooops!

Totally dropped the ball there. Haven’t blogged in god knows how long (3 weeks) and sorry about that. May-Aug means getting ready for pride time which as you know this year is my dream theme GOTHAM CITY! Oh yes I have taken my love of throwing events, comic book life, and gay pride thrown them all in my rainbow glitter blender and hit FRAPPE! This is the party that I have been wanting to throw since a I started doing this over 5 years ago, so you can’t blame me if my full attention is there.

Also with no drag race, no fall-spring tv shows, no drama rama I gots nothing. Well believe be there’s lots of drama but I don’t know if I should talk about it…

The first, I repeat FIRST gay marriage in Superhero history. Or at least the first in one of the big two companies. It’s kind of fitting that it is Northstar since he was one of the first, if not THE first gay superhero, and also he’s Canadian where gays and lezzies have been allowed to get married for a very very long time. He’s marrying his civilian boyfriend Kyle in June, and it’s going to be FABULOUS!

#SMASH Finale

Did you watch it last night?!? My god it gave me EVERYTHING! (Sidenote, after hating that stupid term I started using it for season finale er…season.). This finale was probably the best season finale of the year. Up down, round and round. It ended the way I NEEDED it to end (although everyone else thinks I’m nutso) but we finally got our Marilyn and it was the correct choice. People thought it should’ve been IVY IVY IVY, no way man. Ivy was so not likable for me. And Marilyn was not like Ivy. Marilyn was fragile, directors had to baby her or else they wouldn’t get anything done. There was scene last night where Karen was hiding in the wardrobe room and Derek had to come in and comfort her, it was all VERY Marilyn. That is probably what the creators of the show were wanting to show you. Karen was more Marilyn than Ivy because she was fragile. The whole Ivy character was forced, annoying. Why is she doing pills because she didn’t get a part? Suck it up you’re a actress it happens. Get over yourself.

Anyway the finale was packed with everything. Ellis is FINALLY gone (THANK GOD!), Julia is pregnant (most likely with Michaels baby, why don’t people use condoms when they are having affairs. Adults are so stupid), and Derek is turning into a great director and less of a dick. I LOVED his human moments with Karen last night. Some say it’s because he’s falling in love with her, but I think he’s just achieving his artistic vision and helping a young ingenue.

Now can we TALK about that showstopping finale number? Honestly I was crying and clapping and screaming and jumping around! It was SO good, Katherine McPhee killed that song. I haven’t been able to stop listening to it since last night. Seriously ask my roommate. I can’t wait for next season. Here are my predictions

* Karen will get rave reviews and a big STAR IS BORN story line will take place. I hope Dev stays gone because he was stupid.
* Ivy will survive. Or not. I really don’t care at this point because she’s being a big baby. But she’s the drama so she will stick around and cause some trouble.
* Ellis will come from behind with a whole “It was my idea” thing. And Angelica Houston will kick the shit out of him.
* There will be some drama with the Broadway move. Is Karen ready? Can she handle the big stage…

Honestly at this point just leave her in the role. I really hope the show doesn’t go back to that whole “Who is read for Marilyn” story line because it’s DONE! They found their Marilyn now make her perfect. Dump Ellis, have Ivy be the understudy (that should teach her) and just keep bringing these amazing songs.

I can’t wait for next season. Bravo SMASH!

Sorry @Oprah, you can’t win them all :(

I guess something you’ve finally tried hasn’t succeeded, which kind of sucks because I do really like some of the programming on OWN. The Shania Twain show was great, as was the Judd’s but I guess that’s kind of it. I wonder what’s going to happen.

Apparently OWN has lost 330 million dollars (none of it Oprah’s own money…smart girl) and unless something drastic changes in the next little while it’s going to be doing some serious damage to her brand. I personally think she should bring back the OPRAH show every day at 4pm on OWN, and repeat every old episode. It seriously should just be all Oprah all the time.

What I learned at Fan Expo Vancouver @ExpoVancouver

This past weekend was the first Fan Expo in Vancouver, and it was absolutely incredible. Being a baby nerd (only 8 months old) I had only experienced one Con before (in Seattle), but having it on my home turf was way more important. Here are a few things I learned.

1. COSPLAY – This was the biggest thing for me this weekend. Cosplay is essentially dressing up as a character. We went with a big group and took on Batman villains. It was awesome. Here’s my piece of advice if you’re going to dress up: Don’t expect to do anything more than take photos. I had a big chunk of change burning a hole in my pocket and I couldn’t spend it because of the photos! Not that I’m complaining at ALL but it’s just a fact.

2. TICKETS – GET YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE! Two of our group didn’t buy tickets and they were sold out. LESSON LEARNED!

3. ARTISTS – TONS of artists and writers, make sure you got and see them and engage in conversation they love it. Just don’t be a bitch or a creep.

4. HAVE FUN! It really is so incredible to go to these things. So much fun and you meet so many people. We met an AMAZING other gotham group and can’t wait to bump into them in the future. Costumes, friends, artists, fun everything…so much fun!

Here’s my problem with #MagicMike

This movie is doomed. The idea of this movie is great, a bunch of ridiculously hot guys dancing around taking their clothes off. Perfect, I though it was going to be like a male Showgirls. Just a bunch of nudity and dancing. Then I saw the trailer, and this looks like the biggest piece of garbage in the world. Poor little gorgeous stripper doesn’t want to strip anymore but wants to make furniture. Go fuck yourself. Way to ruin a PERFECTLY good guilty pleasure by making is such a suck fest. I bet you 100 bux that the actual draw of this movie, the stripping, will only appear for about 10-15 minutes in total.

Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate.

This deserves like the biggest QUEEN PLEASE I have ever given in my life. Bleh!
